How do we recognise the unconscious? Exploring Lacan.

Go Back

Why study this course?

Lacanian thought is on the rise in the humanities – these are ideas that seem well equipped to grapple with the deepening complexities of the 21st century. The Lacanian psychoanalytic clinic can also make an offer for our time – cutting a fresh path through the field of ‘mental health’ – reframing medical diagnoses as questions of subjectivity.

What to expect

The focus of the workshop will be the fundamental concept of Freudian and Lacanian psychoanalysis – the unconscious. For Lacan the unconscious comes from the ‘outside’ and appears in the disruptions of glitches of language.
