Introduction to Group Schema Therapy

Go Back

A growing body of research evidence in recent years supports the effectiveness of Schema Therapy across a variety of clinical settings and modalities. This one-day workshop is designed to introduce the Group Schema Therapy model to clinicians who have an interest in furthering the application of Schema Therapy in groups within the NHS, private sector, or forensic settings in the UK and abroad.  It has been developed and evaluated for clients experiencing high levels of distress and entrenched patterns of complexity in their lives, and uses creative and relational change techniques in a structured and containing, theory driven delivery model specifically designed for the ‘hard to help’. There will be some learning of core theory underpinning Group Schema Therapy but the workshop will primarily focus on the application of core Schema Therapy techniques and guided experiential practice in the group setting. Facilitators encourage active participation from attendees within a collaborative, playful and supportive learning environment. This is a stand-alone introductory workshop. Further Group Schema Therapy training is available by arrangement.
