The F Factor: How Facebook Has Helped Grow My Private Practice

Go Back

Social media is such an integral part of life today. As therapists, we can use it to our advantage for free/low cost marketing, yet there can be a reluctance to put ourselves out there in the online world, perhaps because of reservations about how to do it ethically, or through a fear of ’getting it wrong’, or maybe because of a worry that it’s time wasted for little result. But that’s not been my experience.

Since I started in private practice in 2016, I have worked on building an active social media presence, particularly on Facebook, as a way of being visible to potential clients. And it works for me. I receive a significant number of enquiries through Facebook and often these enquiries translate into client work.

John has invited me to explore with him how I use my Facebook presence, what has worked for me, and why I would encourage therapists to use it as a marketing tool.
