Think Effectively About Mood Swings (TEAMS): A Novel CBT for Bipolar Disorder

This workshop will introduce participants to the TEAMS approach, a novel CBT for bipolar disorder. By the end of the workshop the participants will have had opportunities to: • understand the integrative cognitive model of mood swings and bipolar disorder (Mansell et al., 2007) • practice key therapeutic techniques based on the model including: – developing formulations – facilitating the description, acceptance and tolerance of internal states – aiding the consideration of conflicting extreme beliefs about internal states – facilitating the development of a ‘healthy’ self
