When Are We Ready For Private Practice?

Go Back

With the costs of our training, including Supervision and Therapy, and our day to day needs, we can perhaps feel desperate about our options.

If you’re a newly qualified counsellor and can’t find a counselling job that pays, if youre frustrated with the culture of volunteering that our profession has, if you think that Private Practice is what you want to do or have to do to keep a roof over your and your family’s head, then this Online event is for you.

Alison is an experienced independent counsellor, counselling supervisor, tutor, and business coach who has helped many therapists decide if Private Practice is for them, and if it helps them gain confidence in running a business alongside being a fabulous counsellor.

In the UK, counselling is an unregulated profession, anyone can call themselves a counsellor, create a website and FaceBook page, and get clients. Scary.

As someone who has been though many years of training, you may have been told you’re not qualified to be an independent counsellor in private practice. Well, possibly. However, for Alison it’s not as clear cut.

In this conversation, we wll discuss what is needed to be fit for private practice, to be an independent counsellor. And, if it were not fit yet, what our next steps could be.
