Working with Suicide & Risk

Go Back

A thorough and thoughtful exploration of the issues surrounding suicide and risk. The workshop is designed to raise awareness of our working practices, decision-making around risk, suicide as well as addressing our own fears.

The day begins with exploring the personal and professional experiences of suicide within the room before focusing on the assessment of risk and suicide in relation to our clients and our self. This will be achieved by highlighting possible dilemmas and the potential impact that these may have on our practice.

The day will include discussion around the organisation’s relevant policies and procedures. We will use recorded case studies to consider the impact of suicide and risk on our relationship and contracting with clients before we update our own practice with regard to language, law, ethics and confidentiality. We end the day reflecting on how our own risk assessment process could be developed to build confidence in this area.
