Gift Up! is a service that allows your business to sell and manage gift cards online. Setup:

Setting up your business on Gift Up! is easy.  After signing up for free, the website guides you through entering your details and a step by step process of creating your first gift cards. The site’s intuitive layout means that the setup process is unlikely to take longer than 25 minutes.

 

The Cards:

There are three options to choose from when it comes to selling your cards: You can sell digital gift cards that are gifted and received via email, physical gift cards that are sold online but then printed and posted to customers by you, or you could use a mixture of both methods.

Possibly one of the most important things to consider is the appearance of your gift cards, as having a beautiful design on every card will help your business stand out and is certainly likely to improve sales. To help you Gift Up! offer a varied selection of stylish templates along with the crucial option to upload your own.  If you are more creative you could design your own either by hand or through a programme such as Photoshop and upload it to create a more consistent look between platforms; for example, a blue and black card for a blue and black style website.

 

How it works:

Gift Up! allows you to build a checkout into your website or facebook page allowing customers to purchase gift cards directly from you without having to leave your site.  Larger web providers such as Squarespace, Wix and Wordpress allow an easy drag and drop style installation of the Gift Up! checkout. If you are with another provider you can either insert two lines of HTML code or just link customers to an external checkout hosted by Gift Up! Unfortunately due to Facebook′s recent policy changes the checkout is no longer available for pages with less than 2000 likes, however Gift Up! say that an alternative checkout solution is being developed by facebook, meaning this service should return at some point.

 

Support:

Gift Up!’s UK based support team are available during normal office hours to provide support. They offer four different support options: email, telephone (UK landline), an online messenger, and an FAQ (Frequently asked questions) page. It is unlikely you will actually need to talk to anyone as the FAQ page is extensive and easy to understand. Gift Up! benefit from a small customer support team all of whom understand all aspects of the service.

 

Management:

Gift Up! make the day to day management simple. They store all the information about each individual gift card and allow you to track the number of sessions left on a card, or the amount of money stored on it. Your business can redeem credit or sessions from customers’ cards either by entering a unique code found on the card or by scanning it using a mobile phone app available on both the app store and Google Play.

-PayPal charge 2.9% + $0.30 on every sale

-Stripe charge 1.4% + 20p on every sale
